Jounieh

Just a few kilometers north of Beirut, and long tied to the big city by historical and logistic reasons; today Jounce is a charming city by the sea, characterized by a crowd of buildings that have often raised comparisons with a Lebanese Monte Carlo. Even one of Johnnie's main attractions recalls the Monegasque principality: the elegant Casino du Liban that was recently restored to its former splendor. The casino, the bars and restaurants are always filled with wealthy Lebanese and tourists. It is crowned by a myriad of fashionable nightspots as well as cafes and shops that flank the seaside promenade and beaches.

Another attraction is the just as famous, but much less secular statue of Our Lady of Lebanon, towering over Harissa, while below, in the heart of Jounieh is the Sanctuary of Saint George that celebrates and perpetuates the tradition according to which the saint killed the dragon right here on these beaches.
